Marjorie was an integral part of our preschool family. She served as an immense resource and support system for our teaching team, a confidant and friendly face to our families, and a loving, nurturing, and dependable grandma to our students. Marjorie exuded a joyful spirit and youthful energy that brought love and life to our center. One of her favorite places to serve was in the nap room where she could be found reading stories, giving hugs, and lulling children to sleep. The children were fond of waking up because it meant they would get a ride on Marjorie's power chair. She considered our students "her kids" and would do anything for them. She often purchased shoes and clothing for the kids, supplied new materials for the classroom, and was always on-call for whatever situation arose. Her presence will be deeply missed.
It has been bittersweet in our center since our passing--walking through our facility seeing "her kids" knowing that they would no longer benefit from her big heart has been difficult but knowing that they have experienced her love and that its legacy will last a lifetime has been comforting.
The children's continued energy, laughter, and time spent learning and growing together honor her memory.
