The purpose of life is not to be happy - but to matter, to be productive, to be useful, to have it make some difference that you have lived at all.
Volunteers play an important role in the lives of students. Students who have regular interactions with positive adult role models generally have better grades, better attendance, and higher graduation rates. Increased adult involvement also causes students to have more positive attitudes, more motivation, and higher self-esteem.
Schools benefit from volunteer involvement because they provide increased individual attention for students, extra support on projects, and strengthen the overall program as they share their time, talents, and treasures. Making these contributions is also beneficial for the volunteer. They gain opportunities to meet new people, improve skills such as communication, self-confidence/image, and interpersonal relations. Volunteers also gain valuable job experience and have the chance to inspire, educate, and motivate future generations.
We are grateful for individuals who are partner with us; volunteers really are the heart of our community. It is our pleasure to introduce you to some of our current volunteers.
